Myth 6. Congregations have difficulty adapting
to the changing world around them because the majority of
worshipers are not open to change.
Responses to two questions refute this myth. First, worshipers were asked about the extent to which they agree with this statement: "This congregation is always ready to try something new." And 61% of worshiper responded "agree" or "strongly agree." Thus, it appears that most worshipers believe their congregations are not static entities, but rather vital organizations open to new ideas.
